Wanted: Your Proposals for the 2009 Fall Conference

The strength of the Fall Conference lies with our wonderful Teacher Consultants who share their expertise in writing instruction.  Please begin thinking about the knowledge and practices you can share with other teachers in the area.  You may submit proposals online or download a PDF of the proposal form and submit it by mail.  The deadline for submissions is July 31st.

THE OBJECTIVES:

  • To provide TCs an opportunity to share best practices with colleagues
  • To promote TC leadership in a professional development setting
  • To allow TCs to earn professional development/in-service hours

THE FOCUS:

  • All grade levels
  • There is a strand specifically geared toward the content area for this conference. These workshops will be given specific consideration when selecting from proposals.

THE BENEFITS:

  • Participating TCs will be given the opportunity to attend the conference for free.
  • Participating TCs will receive a certificate for three hours of in-service credit.
  • Principals and administrators will receive recognition on your behalf and your leadership role in the conference.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Submit your proposal electronically or via snail mail.
  • There will be a workday available for presenters to develop sessions and receive any assistance. Time and location TBA.
  • Workshops will be 50 minutes in length.

CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Even if you already have a prepared demonstration, you can use the time before the end of school to develop a new presentation.
  • You can have all the assistance you need in preparation for the conference.
  • You can consider a poster session as an alternative to workshop presentation format. Just mark the appropriate space on your Presentation Proposal.
