Youth Writers Camp
SUMMER 2019: Unfortunately there will be no youth writers camp this summer. We are working hard to revamp and start again in 2020! Keep coming back!
WHAT MAKES A CHILD A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THE MTWP YOUTH WRITERS CAMP?
Children who have a desire to write and who are excited about “reading like writers” will benefit the most from this camp. Campers spend the majority of their day involved in reading literature or writing, so make sure that reading and writing is something you love to do!
WHO ARE THE CAMP INSTRUCTORS?
Camp instructors are experienced classroom teachers who serve as Middle Tennessee Writing Project Teacher-Consultants. Each teacher has a passion for writing and strives to make sure that students become more confident in their own writing ability, while working in a supportive, non-threatening environment.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE MTWP YOUTH WRITERS CAMP?
Our goal is that each camper becomes a part of a community of authors working to explore different writing styles and genres. Within this community, we want each camper to spend extended periods of time writing, experience conferencing with peers and teachers, and ultimately discover his/her own writing style.
